Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is to lay the foundation stone for the PM Mitra Park in Navsari, which will significantly benefit the textile industry in the greater Surat region.
Last March, the central government unveiled plans for seven PM Mega Integrated Textile Regions and Apparel (PM MITRA) parks across India, with Gujarat being one of the selected states. Aligned with the Prime Minister’s 5F vision (Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign), these parks aim to establish India as a global hub for textile manufacturing and exports. The Parks will come up in Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra.
The Gujarat state government has allocated 1,140 acres of land for the PM Mitra Park in Navsari. This move is expected to attract direct investments from industrialists in Surat’s textile sector, fostering economic growth. The park is anticipated to generate a total investment of Rs 25,000 crore and create around 2 lakh jobs.
State governments will provide contiguous and encumbrance-free land parcels of at least 1000 acres of land and will also facilitate the provision of all utilities, Reliable Power Supply and Water availability and Waste Water Disposal system, an effective single window clearance as well as a conducive and stable industrial/textile policy.
