Mahindra Logistics Limited (MLL) celebrated a significant achievement with the inauguration of its state-of-the-art warehousing facility near Pune in Phaltan. Covering an expansive 6.5 lakh sqft and developed in two phases, this facility is poised to be a vital asset in Mahindra Logistics’ extensive network of multi-client facilities across India. Positioned strategically to cater to automotive OEM and components sectors, the Phaltan warehouse will play a pivotal role in handling inbound logistics for manufacturing and distribution solutions. Encompassing 25 acres, it is a strategic addition to Mahindra Logistics’ infrastructure.
The initial phase, spanning 3.5 lakh sq ft, is expected to be operational by the end of 2024, with a manufacturing customer already contracted for the facility. This customer intends to use the space as their national logistics center, beginning operations in Q3 2024-25. As one of the largest warehouses among logistics service providers in the region, the facility adheres to Mahindra Logistics Ltd’s sustainability standards, focusing on decarbonization, renewable power usage, green warehousing practices, and community development. The establishment of this facility is anticipated to generate over 500 job opportunities in the region.
Mahindra Logistics, in collaboration with its partners, plans to invest Rs 170 crore across multiple phases for the development of the new facility and associated infrastructure. This expansion is seen as a strategic move to strengthen its multi-client warehousing network across India. In a statement, Mahindra Logistics emphasized the significance of the Phaltan facility in meeting increasing demand and expanding its capabilities. Designed to seamlessly integrate with the national network of multi-client facilities, express, and full truckload operations, it aims to enhance reach and service levels to clients. This reflects the company’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge, technology-driven solutions and aligns with its vision to achieve carbon neutrality by 2040.
