REC has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) with the Uttar Pradesh (UP) government to provide financial assistance worth Rs 98,853 crore for multiple projects.
The key projects comprise a power plant at a cost of Rs 14,103 crore, with a capacity addition of nearly 3,000 megawatts (MW), pollution control equipment & allied works, and transmission projects worth Rs 7,800 crore to be undertaken towards strengthening infrastructure, and minimising the aggregate technical & commercial losses.
Other projects being facilitated include renewable energy-based ventures at a cost of Rs 45,350 crore for an addition of 10,000 MW capacity and multiple infrastructure development projects of Rs 20,000 crore across various sectors in UP.
